ATLANTA – State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) will serve as the keynote speaker for Morrow Middle School’s “moving on” ceremony on Monday, May 24, 2021.
“I am truly humbled and honored for this grand opportunity to speak on such a tremendous occasion,” said Rep. Scott. “No matter how advanced the world has become the basic principles of creating and maintaining a successful future are the same. I have never forgotten the excitement to learn, the importance of staying focused and the reward of hard work and dedication along my own journey. I wish these students all the best as they go forward and do great things. I hope that these students remember to let no one else’s footsteps determine their destination in life.”
The theme of the ceremony will be “Nobody Else’s Footsteps Lead Exactly Where You are Going.” At the ceremony, Rep. Scott will share five major lessons she believes have benefited her career as a soldier, educator and elected official. She will share about the impact that attitude, the power of choice, education, gratitude and leadership has had in her own life.

She was first elected to the House Representatives in 2010 and currently serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Human Relations & Aging, Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment, Science and Technology and Special Rules committees.
