ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) today expressed her support for the first collegiate esports festival, the Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC). The CECC will take place from May 6 through May 8, 2022, at the Gateway Center Arena, which is located in Rep. Schofield’s House District 60.
“With so many diverse education and career opportunities involved in the esports arena, Georgia will become an even greater state for economic opportunities,” said Rep. Schofield. “I am proud to support this event that will take place in House District 60. I also want to commend the work of these industry partners that will create access and opportunities for South Atlanta, Forest Park, East Point, Hapeville, College Park, Union City and the City of South Fulton.”
The all-inclusive collegiate esports celebration will bring collegiate esports athletes from across the U.S. to compete in multiple game titles for the CECC. The event will include food trucks, live music, a recruitment fair, professional networking, a cosplay costume contest, as well as scheduled and open-play gaming tournaments. Students from any four-year or two-year college or university across the country can earn their spot in Atlanta through a series of regional invitational tournaments. All CECC ticket holders will automatically be entered to win an additional experience, such as tickets to the Atlanta Hawk’s opening night in 2022 or a trip to Hawaii; ticket holders must be present at the CECC to win.
This event is a collaboration between the Collegiate Sports Management Group, ESPORTSU and Skillshot Media. The event is supported locally by the Atlanta Esports Alliance, Atlanta Hawks, College Park Skyhawks, Atlanta FaZe, Atlanta Reign, Cxmmunity and the*gameHERS. Other select partners included in bringing the CECC to life are CDW and Microsoft as presenting partners, along with Barbasol, CTRL, Futures First Gaming, HomeTown Ticketing, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, McDonald’s, Neustreet, Oakley, Reveal Suits and the U.S. Air Force.
Tickets to CECC are available now at www.cecc.gg for $15 weekend packages or individual day passes for $10 each. Prices will increase after May 1, 2022.
