Rep. Schofield to Host Series of Virtual Events to Celebrate Single Parents

ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) will host a series of events to celebrate Single Parents Day in Georgia on Monday, March 21. The event schedule is as follows:

  • Facebook Live broadcast event – Monday, March 21, 2022, from 10 – 11 a.m. via Facebook Live; to participate in this Facebook live event, please contact kim.schofield@house.ga.gov.
  • WCEG “Issues and Answers” radio show – Monday, March 21, 2022, from 4 – 5 p.m. on WCEG’s Facebook page;
  • Virtual town hall – Monday, March 21, 2022, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. via Zoom; to register for this event, please click here;
         

Rep. Schofield will co-host these events with former State Representative Valencia Stovall, Georgia Youth Career Center and the Georgia Single Parent Coalition. Single Parents Day seeks to acknowledge the accomplishments of single parents residing in Georgia raising their children. The virtual town hall will feature a panel discussion with area experts. Parents are encouraged to post on their social media accounts to celebrate Single Parents Day.

On May 7, 2018, Governor Nathan Deal signed House Resolution 279, authored by former Rep. Stovall, into law to designate March 21 of each year as Single Parent Day in the State of Georgia.
