Rep. Scot Turner Selected for Republican Leadership for Georgia

ATLANTA – State Representative Scot Turner (R-Holly Springs) was recently selected for the Republican Leadership for Georgia program as a member of the 2016 class. The Republican Leadership for Georgia (RLG) is designed to produce trained leaders who are willing to serve and assist others, are committed to the tradition of full participation in the political process, and believe in Republican principles.

“I would like to thank RLG alum, Brad Hughes, who nominated me for the 2016 class,” said Rep. Turner. “For more than 18 years, RLG has trained and produced leaders in the Republican Party and the state of Georgia, and I am humbled by the opportunity to participate in this great program.”

Based on the vision of the late Senator Paul Coverdell, the RLG program continues the role historically undertaken by the former Coverdell Leadership Institute (CLI) consisting primarily of 10 monthly weekend sessions held throughout Georgia and Washington, D.C. from September through June.  The sessions cover a range of topics, including constitutional, ethical, criminal justice, national and international affairs, and legislative issues and processes.
