Rep. Scott Commends Georgia House Democratic Caucus Freshmen Legislators on 2019-2020 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) commends the Georgia House Democratic Caucus’ (GHDC) freshmen legislators for completing their second legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly’s 2019-2020 legislative term.

“The Georgia House Democratic Caucus’ freshmen legislators were energetic, full of fight and awesome over these last two years,” said Rep. Scott. “I love the way these members all worked together to bring ideas to the table. During their first year, the freshmen legislators felt some kind of way, but during their second legislative session, they came back with a vengeance. They did not hesitate to ask questions, put forth meaningful legislation and for that, I want to personally say thank you for a job well done. Each of these members are unique in his or her own way. They were not afraid to speak out, ask questions and speak on the House floor when they felt the need to speak for or against legislation.”

The GHDC freshmen legislators include state representatives Erick Allen (D-Smyrna), Teri Anulewicz (D-Smyrna), Jasmine Clark (D-Lilburn), Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), Becky Evans (D-Atlanta), Betsy Holland (D-Atlanta), El-Mahdi Holly (D-Stockbridge), CaMia Hopson (D-Albany), Shelly Hutchinson (D-Snellville), Angelika Kausche (D-Johns Creek), Gregg Kennard (D-Lawrenceville), Josh McLaurin (D-Sandy Springs), Donna McLeod (D-Lawrenceville), Beth Moore (D-Peachtree Corners), Mary Robichaux (D-Roswell), Mike Wilensky (D-Dunwoody), Mary Frances Williams (D-Marietta) and Matthew Wilson (D-Brookhaven).

“The citizens in these legislators’ House districts should be proud of the leadership they have shown over the last two years,” added Rep. Scott. “Again, I want to personally thank these freshmen members for two successful legislative sessions, and I am looking forward to the 2021-2022 legislative term. Our caucus has a lot of work to do, so get some rest, and let’s get ready for the next two years.”

Representative Sandra Scott represents the citizens of District 76, which includes portions of Clayton and Henry counties. She was first elected to the House Representatives in 2010 and currently serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Human Relations & Aging, Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment, Science and Technology and Special Rules committees.
