ATLANTA – State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) recently received the 2019 Dr. Marilyn Flynn Democratic Woman of the Year Award from the Henry County Federation of Democratic Women (HCDW). Rep. Scott was presented with the award during a ceremony on Saturday, September 7, 2019, in McDonough.

“I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the HCDW and Dr. Marilyn Flynn for this great honor,” said Rep. This passion reminded me of my love for children and what I do on a daily basis. I am honored and will continue to work, stand and fight for what is right, and I will remain visible with a voice of support.”

Other 2019 HCDW awards and their recipients include the President’s Impact Award, Cletonya Stidom; Emerging Leader Award, Siddiqa Gibson; and Volunteer Hero Award, Laverne Washington.
