Rep. Teri Anulewicz Honored with ACCG 2023 Legislative Service Award

ATLANTA – State Representative Teri Anulewicz (D-Smyrna) was recently honored by the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) with a 2023 Legislative Service Award, an award program that honors state House and Senate members for their work during the legislative session. ACCG recognized Rep. Anulewicz for her advocacy for local government, and she was presented with the award during a recent Cobb County Commission meeting.

“It is a tremendous honor to receive this award from ACCG and to be recognized by the board of commissioners in my home county,” said Rep. Anulewicz. “Cobb County is such a special place, and I am grateful for the very work that the Cobb Commission does every day to ensure that Cobb is home to a vibrant, thriving environment for residents and businesses. It is my pleasure to be a voice for Cobb County at the General Assembly and to work to ensure that the policies we enact neither place undue burdens on our county and municipal governments, nor lead to unintended consequences that may lead to increased burdens on taxpayers.”

ACCG recognized Rep. Anulewicz for her advocacy for local government and Georgia’s communities during the 2023 legislative session through her opposition to House Bill 189, legislation that increased truck weight limits on Georgia roads. ACCG also highlighted Rep. Anulewicz’s work as a former city official, recognizing the benefits, as well as unintended consequences, legislation can have on both counties and cities.

“The annual Legislative Service Awards program allows ACCG, on behalf of Georgia’s county commissioners, to express appreciation to the dedicated members of the Georgia General Assembly,” said Executive Director Dave Wills. “This program showcases the importance of state and local officials working together to best serve those who call our state home.”
