Rep. Tim Fleming Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2023-2024 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Tim Fleming (R-Covington) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2023, marking his first day of the 2023-2024 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 157th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“It was an honor to be sworn into the Georgia House of Representatives to serve the citizens of District 114,” said Rep. Fleming. “I am extremely humbled by the opportunity to represent my constituents under the Gold Dome. I would like to thank Speaker Jon Burns for placing me on these important committees, and I look forward to working to help make Georgia an even greater place to live and work.”

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Fleming as the Secretary of the Information and Audits Committee. He will also serve on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight and Higher Education committees. 

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives. 

Representative Tim Fleming represents the citizens of District 114, which includes Morgan County and portions of Jasper and Newton counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves as Secretary of the Information and Audits Committee. He also serves on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight and Higher Education committees.
