Rep. Todd Jones Commends Local Recipients of Girl Scout Gold Award

ATLANTA – State Representative Todd Jones (R-South Forsyth) commends four citizens from House District 25 for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award, which is the highest ranking award in the Girl Scout program. Alexandra Dunn, Lucia Morris, Megan Pol and Cherie Sang from The Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Inc. were recognized during the annual Gold Award Ceremony on Sunday, March 8, 2020.

“These four young ladies have set a great example for their peers in their Girl Scout program and the rest of our community,” said Rep. Jones. “This program has a long history of encouraging and training exceptional young women who go on to make a lasting impact in the Atlanta area, and I am proud that these girls are from House District 25.”

The Gold Award process takes place during the final four years of a scout’s time in the Girl Scout program. To receive this award, the scout must participate in leadership activities, a service project and complete a Gold Award project. For their project, each girl must lead a community impact project and educate others on their chosen issue. Each project must be sustainable, have a measurable outcome and a global/national link.
