Rep. Tremaine “Teddy” Reese Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2023-2024 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Tremaine “Teddy” Reese (D-Columbus) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2023, marking his first day of the 2023-2024 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 157th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“I want to thank Speaker Jon Burns and House leadership for my committee placements,” said Rep. Reese. “Economic Development is a critical need in the Columbus areas, and as such, I look forward to tackling this issue on the House Economic Development and Tourism Committee. In this same area, we also struggle to provide adequate health care for citizens. My seat on the House Public Health Committee will greatly assist in addressing these issues. I am fortunate to land such strong committee placements as a freshman legislator.”

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Reese to the Economic Development & Tourism, Public Health and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Tremaine “Teddy” Reese represents the citizens of District 140, which includes portions of Muscogee County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Economic Development & Tourism, Public Health and State Planning & Community Affairs committees.
