Rep. Trey Kelley Assigned to New Committees for 2015-2016 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments recently appointed State Representative Trey Kelley (R-Cedartown) to the Ways and Means, Health & Human Services and Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications committees. Rep. Kelley will also serve as the Secretary of the Higher Education Committee and as a member of the Banks & Banking, Code Revision, and Judiciary committees.

“I am honored that Speaker Ralston has placed his trust in me to serve on these committees,” said Rep. Kelley. “I have a passionate interest in tax policy, as well as some of Northwest Georgia’s most crucial matters like health care and maintaining a dependable energy network.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Trey Kelley represents the citizens of District 16, which includes portions of Bartow, Haralson, and Polk counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves as the Secretary on the Higher Education Committee. He also serves on the Banks & Banking, Code Revision, Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications, Health and Human Services, Ways and Means, and Judiciary committees.
