Rep. Viola Davis, Chairman Billy Mitchell Honor Late Councilman Bill Rosenfeld with House Resolution 217

ATLANTA – State Representative Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) and Minority Caucus Chairman Billy Mitchell (D-Stone Mountain) recently sponsored House Resolution 217 to recognize Friday, February 26, 2021, as City of Tucker Councilman Bill Rosenfeld Day at the State Capitol. These legislators will also honor the life and memory of late Councilman Rosenfeld during a morning order on the House floor on Friday.

“Councilman Bill Rosenfeld helped with the renovation of the Peters Park neighborhood and will be forever remembered for his good works,” said Rep. Davis.

“Councilman Bill Rosenfeld was not only a public servant, but a businessman, husband and friend,” said Chairman Mitchell. “He will be sorely missed.”

During his tenure in the Tucker City Council, Councilman Rosenfeld was passionate about the city’s development and worked diligently to improve living conditions for the residents of Smoke Rise, including resurfacing roads, revamping parks and recreation areas and renovating the Peters Park neighborhood. He was a successful businessman who advocated for small businesses in Tucker, an active member of the Tucker Rotary Club and served on the Board of Directors for Tucker-Northlake CID.

“Bill’s loss leaves such a big hole in our community,” City of Tucker Mayor Frank Auman. “His public service grew naturally out of a lifetime of private and personal service to his family, many, many friends and countless community organizations. The best way we can honor him is to each, in our own way, replace a little of his generous spirit and sacrifice for our neighbors.”

In North Carolina, Councilman Rosenfeld first served as a volunteer in the Fire Rescue Squad for Guildford County EMS and then served as the director for the McDowell County EMS. After moving to Georgia, he dedicated innumerable hours as a paramedic with DeKalb County.
