ATLANTA – State Representative Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) recently introduced House Resolution 429, a special resolution which recognizes tomorrow, Thursday, March 16, 2023, as Nurses Day at the State Capitol.
“Nurses are the frontline angels of health care,” said Rep. Davis. “Nurses are the most trusted and ethical profession for 21 years according to a Gallup poll. As a registered nurse, we celebrate the care our nurses give to patients and citizens.”
This resolution recognizes the more than 170,000 registered nurses in Georgia, which makes nursing the state’s largest health care profession. The resolution commends the men and women of Georgia’s nursing workforce for their strength, leadership and courage in their willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves.
The Georgia Nurses Association and Georgia Nurses Foundation plan to visit the State Capitol tomorrow to observe the legislative session and interact with state legislators.
“Nursing is a pillar of health care, and we remain committed to the pursuit of ensuring that all Georgians have access to high quality care, regardless of where they reside,” said Tim Davis, Georgia Nurses Association/Georgia Nurses Foundation. “We are grateful to representative and registered nurse, Viola Davis, as well as the members of the Georgia House of Representatives for recognizing the nursing profession for all that we do to care for the citizens of our great state.”
