ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments recently named State Representative Will Wade (R-Dawsonville) as the Vice Chairman of the House Banks and Banking Committee and the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Education.
“I am eager to serve the House in these leadership roles and thankful to Speaker Burns for the honor,” said Rep. Wade. “Working alongside Chairman Williams and Chairman Dubnik is a true privilege as we look to create and build upon sound policies that will support both our education system and the financial institutions operating in our state. Education funding accounts for more than half of our state’s budget each year – a critical expenditure and investment in Georgia’s young learners. I am proud to be named vice chairman of this Appropriations Subcommittee to help oversee how these funds are allocated across our state.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
The House Banks and Banking Committee has jurisdiction of financial institutions, real property finance and corporate securities law, and the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Education assists with drafting budgets, specifically budgetary items related to Pre-K and K-12 education.
Rep. Wade also serves on the Education, Judiciary Juvenile, State Planning & Community Affairs and Transportation committees.
