Rep. William Boddie Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2017-2018 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative William Boddie (D-Atlanta) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2017, marking his first day of the 2017-2018 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 154th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“It was such a great honor to be sworn into the Georgia House of Representatives in front of so many of my family members, friends, and constituents of District 62,” said Rep. Boddie.  “I am excited to officially begin working zealously on behalf of the citizens of District 62 and the state of Georgia.”

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Boddie to the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight; Judiciary Non-Civil; and Small Business Development committees.

“I am very pleased to be selected to serve on these prestigious committees, as the issues that will be presented before each of these committees will affect the everyday lives of so many Georgians,” added Rep. Boddie. “I am confident that my experience as an attorney and small business owner will add knowledge and value to the discussions and debates that take place throughout the committee process. I look forward to continuing to work passionately as a strong advocate for all of the citizens of this state.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative William Boddie represents the citizens of District 62, which includes portions of Douglas and Fulton counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2016, and currently serves on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Judiciary Non-Civil, and Small Business Development committees.
