ATLANTA – Today Speaker David Ralston announced the committee assignments for the 2010 legislative sessions. Representative Calvin Hill was appointed Chairman of the new Zero Based Budgeting Coordination Subcommittee of Appropriations.
“With the current financial crisis the state is facing, I am humbled that the Speaker has appointed me to this new position,” stated Representative Hill when he was informed of the new assignment. “Working with the various Departments and Agencies of the state, ensuring that they can justify each budget item and expense, will be a gigantic task, but now is the opportune time to reinvent the way things are done. I look forward to working with Chairman Ben Harbin in developing this new committee.”
Representative Hill is also in his 3rd term as Vice Chair of Banks and Banking, and sits on the State Institutions and Properties, Budget and Fiscal Affairs, and Special Rules Committees.
