Representative Roger Williams Comments on General Assembly’s Recess

ATLANTA- State Representative Roger Williams (R-Dalton) released the following statement concerning yesterday’s House and Senate decision to recess for two weeks in order to better focus on Georgia’s budget:

“The legislature announced yesterday that we will be in recess for the next two weeks in order to best address the critical shortfall of our state’s revenues. In an effort to better analyze and solve this critical problem, the House and Senate Appropriations Committees have agreed to meet jointly. This is an unprecedented move and it reflects the willingness of the two bodies to work together. I look forward to continuing my work on the Appropriations and Ways & Means Committees as we strengthen our focus and address our state’s budget situation.
