ATLANTA – State Representative Karen Lupton (D-Chamblee) will present House Resolution 1491 to the Elaine Clark Center on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Chamblee City Hall in recognition of the center’s more than five decades of service providing learning and social environments for children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities. During the 2026 legislative session, Rep. Lupton introduced HR 1491 to recognize the center’s work serving individuals with disabilities and providing support and resources to their families and the broader DeKalb County community.

Rep. Karen Lupton, We Love Buford Highway Launch ‘Lupton Lifts Community’ to Support Families Facing Unexpected Hardship

ATLANTA – State Representative Karen Lupton (D-Chamblee), in partnership with We Love Buford Highway (WLBH), today announces the launch of “Lupton Lifts Community,” a community initiative aimed at helping families across the Buford Highway corridor who are experiencing sudden financial hardship. The campaign seeks to support the We Love Buford Highway Emergency Community Stabilization Fund, which provides short-term assistance to families facing certain needs such as groceries, transportation, temporary rent assistance, utility payments, childcare and other expenses.

Rep. Karen Lupton Urges Federal Government to Remove Rideshare Sexual Assault Liability Shield from Federal House Bill

ATLANTA – State Representative Karen Lupton (D–Chamblee) recently signed onto a letter with 285 female state lawmakers and 128 members of Congress in demanding the removal of rideshare sexual assault liability shields from a proposed federal house bill – the BUILD America 250 Act. The letter urges U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson to reject the rideshare liability provision in the upcoming transportation bill.

Rep. Karen Lupton Urges CareSource and Peach State Health Plan to Return to Agreed-Upon Medicaid Reimbursement Rates

ATLANTA – State Representative Karen Lupton (D–Chamblee) urges CareSource and Peach State Health Plan to rescind recent decisions to reduce Medicaid reimbursement rates and return to their previously agreed-upon reimbursement rates until the next reenrollment period. These private care management organizations (CMOs) recently notified providers of reimbursement reductions to 80 percent of the Medicaid fee schedule, effective in May.
