Rep. Karen Lupton Appointed to House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Education Performance Metrics and Workforce Stability

ATLANTA – State Representative Karen Lupton (D-Chamblee) was recently appointed by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) to serve as a member of the House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Education Performance Metrics and Workforce Stability. 

“I look forward to hearing from educators and experts from around the state about their experiences in our public education system,” said Rep. Lupton. “It’s vitally important to understand the practicalities of public education in order to improve outcomes for our students, no matter what their zip code.”

The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Education Performance Metrics and Workforce Stability will evaluate Georgia’s education evaluation measures to strengthen accountability, improve student success and strengthen teacher recruitment and retention.

Speaker Burns also appointed the following study committee members: State Representatives Carmen Rice (R-Columbus), Sandy Donatucci (R-Buford), Chuck Martin (R-Alpharetta), Phil Olaleye (D-Atlanta), Bethany Ballard (R-Warner Robins), Omari Crawford (D-Decatur), Scott Hilton (R-Peachtree Corners), Deborah Silcox (R-Sandy Springs) and Leesa Hagan (R-Lyons).
