Withdraws Appointment of Rep. Mesha Mainor to Comply with Legislation

ATLANTA – Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced today that, pursuant to the provisions of Senate Bill 211, he has withdrawn the appointment of Rep. Mesha Mainor (R-Atlanta) to the Georgia Council on Literacy and filled the vacancy by appointing Rep. Al Williams  (D-Midway) to the Council.

Speaker Jon Burns Appoints Members to the Georgia Council on Literacy and Georgia Farmland Advisory Council

ATLANTA – Today, Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced his appointments to the Georgia Council on Literacy and the Georgia Farmland Advisory Council. These councils were created by legislation passed during the 2023 session of the Georgia General Assembly.

ATLANTA – State Representative Al Williams (D-Midway) encourages residents in Liberty County to participate in the 2020 U.S. Census before the September 30 deadline.
