Rep. Morgan Tapped to For National “No Child Left Behind” Work Group
ATLANTA – State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan (D-Austell) was recently selected to participate in a national bi-partisan group of legislators to work on the reauthorization of “No Child Left Behind” (NCLB). The group will work under Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and with senior staff at the US Department of Education (DOE) to develop policy recommendations to reform NCLB in accordance with President Obama’s education initiatives. Morgan Travels to Capitol Hill to Get Answers
Meets with Government Officials to Discuss Flood Recovery
ATLANTA – State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan (D-Austell) continued her efforts to assist with the north Georgia flood recovery last week by traveling to Washington, DC to meet with representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Department of Homeland Security, and senior congressional representatives to discuss the severe flooding that ravaged the Austell area and other parts of North Georgia.
