Georgia Legislators Attend National Black Caucus of State Legislators’ Annual Conference
ATLANTA – Georgia state legislators recently attended the National Black Caucus of State Legislator’s (NBCSL) 43rd Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ALC invited African American legislators, along with advocates, policy experts, corporate executives and community leaders, to discuss pressing issues affecting African Americans and other marginalized communities. Rep. Mitchell to Introduce “Fair Pay to Play” Legislation
ATLANTA – State Representative Billy Mitchell (D-Stone Mountain) today announced that he will introduce legislation during the 2020 legislative session to allow college athletes to be compensated for the use of their name, likeness and image. Georgia Legislators Attend Public Leadership Institute’s National Conference
ATLANTA – State Representatives Debra Bazemore (D-Riverdale), Dar’shun Kendrick (D-Lithonia), Billy Mitchell (D-Stone Mountain) and Sam Park (D-Lawrenceville), along with Senators Tonya Anderson (D-Lithonia) and Nan Orrock (D-Atlanta) recently attended the 2019 Public Leadership Institute’s (PLI) State Strategy Forum National Conference. This conference invites about 120 state legislators from over 40 different states to participate in policy and leadership sessions, which are designed as practical and real-world as possible.
