Georgia House Adopts Rep. Gilliard’s Legislation to Encourage Creation of Gullah Geechee Heritage Society

Rep. Gilliard to Hold Press Conference on Legislation to Address Lynching Cold Cases

ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Savannah) will hold a press conference to announce legislation to address Georgia’s lynching cold cases on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. at the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol.

Rep. Gilliard will be joined by House Minority Leader James Beverly (D-Macon); State Senator Tanya Anderson (D-Lithonia), chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus; Urban League of Atlanta; Anti Deformation League; Georgia State NAACP; and the ACLU.
