Rep. Erica Thomas to Co-Host “Ultimate Giving Back” Event With Naturi Naughton, Brandy to Support Single Mother of 10

ATLANTA – State Representative Erica Thomas (D-Austell) will co-host an “Ultimate Giving Back” event to support Ebonee Greshahe, a single mother of 10 children, on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at 5 p.m. at The Skylark in Atlanta.

Rep. Thomas is co-hosting this event with Jakeem Smith from Food In The City ATL, as well as Two Lewis from On Track Georgia. She will also be joined by several celebrity guests, including Omari Hardwick, Naturi Naughton, Eve and Brandy.

Members of the media are invited to attend this event; this event is not open to the general public.

Rep. Erica Thomas to Participate in Edna Umeh Memorial Crosswalk Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Today

ATLANTA – State Representative Erica Thomas (D-Austell) will participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Edna Umeh memorial crosswalk TODAY, Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 6 p.m. at Lindley Middle School in Mableton.

In Nov. 2017, Ms. Edna Umeh was fatally struck by a vehicle while serving as a crossing guard at Lindley Middle School. Her death prompted a corridor safety audit and installation of safety improvements at this location. This crosswalk will be designated to Ms. Umeh in recognition of her service to the citizens of Cobb County and in memory of her death in the line of duty.

During the 2018 legislative session, Rep. Thomas introduced House Bill 672, or Edna’s Law, to allow law enforcement officers to use speed detection devices while patrolling Georgia public schools. For more information on HB 672, please click here.

Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame Approved by Atlanta City Council, Rep. Thomas to Host Induction, Unveiling Ceremony

ATLANTA – State Representative Erica Thomas (D-Austell) today announced that the Atlanta City Council has approved the installation of the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame, which was co-founded by Rep. Thomas. To celebrate the installation, Rep. Thomas, along with members of the Georgia Entertainment Caucus, will host the inaugural induction and unveiling ceremony of the “Crown Jewel of Excellence” on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on the corner of M.L.K. Jr. Dr. and Northside Dr. (adjacent to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium) in Atlanta.
