ATLANTA – State Representative Dar’shun Kendrick (D-Lithonia) recently participated in TechNet’s 2019 State Policy Conference and served as a panel judge during a pitch competition panel. Rep. Kendrick was the only Georgia legislator invited and one of only 20 legislators from 13 states who participated in this annual conference, which took place November 13-15 in Austin, Texas. Speaker Ralston Announces House of Representatives to Begin Work on AFY 2020 & FY 2021 State Budgets

State Appoints Committee on Economic Growth & Directs Appropriations Committee to Meet

 

ATLANTA – Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today announced that the Georgia House of Representatives will begin work this fall to prepare the Amended Fiscal Year 2020 and the Fiscal Year 2021 state budgets. Speaker Ralston has named a new Special Committee on Economic Growth, which will solicit input on potential new industries in the State of Georgia. Governor Kemp Signs the “Blind Bill” Sponsored by Rep. Gilliard

ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D- Garden City) announced that House Bill 79, or the “Blind Bill,” was signed into law by Governor Brian Kemp on Thursday, May 2, 2019. Sponsored by Rep. Gilliard, HB 79 will prevent government agencies and local authorities from discriminating against parents and legal guardians who are blind.
