Reps. Blackmon, Ballard, Dickey Condemn Recent Antisemitic Acts in Georgia

ATLANTA – State Representatives Shaw Blackmon (R-Bonaire), Bethany Ballard (R-Warner Robins) and Robert Dickey (R-Musella) today issued the following statement condemning the recent antisemitic acts in Middle Georgia:

“We echo the words of Governor Brian Kemp and Speaker Jon Burns when we say that hate and antisemitism have no place in our society and must be unequivocally condemned in the strongest sense. We denounce the recent shameful actions here in Middle Georgia. Such actions are not only morally reprehensible, but they also threaten the safety and well-being of individuals and communities. We must stand together to reject hate. For it is only through a collective effort that we can build a world where everyone is treated with respect and dignity. We are grateful for our local leaders and law enforcement for their swift and decisive actions.”

Representative Shaw Blackmon represents the citizens of District 146, which includes portions of Houston County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2015 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee. He also serves on the Governmental Affairs, Insurance, Rules, Small Business Development, Special Rules and Technology and Infrastructure Innovation committees and is an Ex-Officio member of the Appropriations Committee.

Representative Bethany Ballard represents the citizens of District 147, which includes portions of Houston County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Special Rules Committee. She also serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs and Education committees.

Representative Robert Dickey represents the citizens of District 145, which includes Crawford County and portions of Bibb, Houston, Monroe and Peach counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2011 and currently serves as Chairman of the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education and the Banks & Banking, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Higher Education, Natural Resources & Environment and Ways & Means committees.
