Reps. Scott and Waites Attend Disabled American Veterans Road Dedication

ATLANTA – State Representatives Sandra Scott (D-Rex) and Keisha Waites (D-Atlanta) recently attended a road dedication ceremony for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Highway in College Park on Friday, April 29, 2016. The road dedication unveiled new signs for the Disable American Veterans Highway, and the signs were also presented at the DAV National Convention held in Atlanta April 29-30.

“I was proud to attend the Disabled American Veterans Highway dedication ceremony with such esteemed guests and colleagues to honor our disabled veterans,” said Rep. Waites. “DAV has been instrumental in providing resources and assistance to our nation’s disabled veterans in the pursuit of their military benefits and other outreach programs across the country, and I am grateful that this organization gives back to those who have given so much for our state and nation.”

Senate Resolution 126, legislation establishing the road naming of The Disabled American Veterans Highway, was passed during the 2015 legislative session. Attendees to the dedication ceremony included: Reps. Scott and Waites; former State Rep. Tonya Anderson; Commander Moses A. McIntosh, DAV; Commander Dr. Tincie Lynch, DAV; and National Adjutant Marc J. Burgess, DAV.
