ATLANTA— State Representative Mike Glanton (D-Jonesboro) today commented on his appointment to Governor Deal’s Severe Winter Weather Warning and Preparedness Task Force.
“I am honored and humbled to be chosen by Governor Deal to serve on the task force,” said Rep. Glanton. “I believe this is a step in the right direction to ensure that our state and its residents never again experience this type of situation without regional support, collaboration and timely communication. We must find realistic and achievable solutions that transcend jurisdictional, political and regional lines in our efforts to keep Georgians prepared, alerted, supported and safe. I believe that with the individuals appointed to the task force that a quality report addressing the Governor’s six-point action plan will be submitted with reasonable and attainable solutions and recommendations. I look forward to working with the other task force members as well as local and regional leaders throughout our state.”
