ATLANTA – State Representative Darlene Taylor (R-Thomasville), chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Health, recently introduced House Bill 71, the Okefenokee Protection Act, to prohibit the state from processing future permits or accepting bonds to conduct surface mining operations on Okefenokee Swamp’s Trail Ridge.

Rep. McLeod Continues Work to Mandate Early Childhood Education and Funding Across the State

ATLANTA – State Representative Donna McLeod (D-Lawrenceville) today announced her plans to continue her work on House Bill 71, legislation that would study the state’s education funding formula and the benefits of mandating pre-kindergarten and kindergarten education. Rep. McLeod made her announcement and discussed HB 71 during a press conference earlier today.
