ATLANTA (September 30, 2019) | Senate President Pro Tempore Butch Miller (R – Gainesville), House of Representatives Speaker David Ralston (R – Blue Ridge) and House Speaker Pro-Tempore Jan Jones (R-Milton) announced today that a new lactation pod will be located in the State Capitol. The pod, made by Mamava, will allow mothers a private and sanitary place to nurse or pump. Mamava is a female-owned company headquartered in Vermont that manufactures all of its lactation pods in America. State Appoints Committee on Economic Growth & Directs Appropriations Committee to Meet
ATLANTA – Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today announced that the Georgia House of Representatives will begin work this fall to prepare the Amended Fiscal Year 2020 and the Fiscal Year 2021 state budgets. Speaker Ralston has named a new Special Committee on Economic Growth, which will solicit input on potential new industries in the State of Georgia. Speaker Ralston has also directed the House Appropriations Committee to begin meeting to ensure adequate time and deliberation for the 2020 legislative session budgeting process. ATLANTA – Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today announced a new paid family leave policy for employees of the Georgia House of Representatives. Effective January 1, 2020, this policy will provide for three weeks of paid leave to an employee who welcomes a new child into their family through birth, adoption or foster care.
