ATLANTA – State Representative Sharon Cooper (R-Marietta), chairman of the House Health & Human Services Committee, today announced that the Georgia House of Representatives gave final passage to House Bill 1114 on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Through this legislation, Chairman Cooper seeks to fight maternal mortality in Georgia. House Bill 1114 would extend the duration of postpartum Medicaid coverage for new mothers from two months to six months. Rep. Sharon Cooper Files House Bill 1114 to Address Maternal Mortality in Georgia

ATLANTA – State Representative Sharon Cooper (R-Marietta), chairman of the Health & Human Services Committee, filed House Bill 1114 today to fight maternal mortality in Georgia. HB 1114 seeks to extend the duration of postpartum Medicaid coverage for new mothers from two months to six months. Georgia General Assembly Announces the Addition of a Lactation Pod in the State Capitol

ATLANTA (September 30, 2019) | Senate President Pro Tempore Butch Miller (R – Gainesville), House of Representatives Speaker David Ralston (R – Blue Ridge) and House Speaker Pro-Tempore Jan Jones (R-Milton) announced today that a new lactation pod will be located in the State Capitol. The pod, made by Mamava, will allow mothers a private and sanitary place to nurse or pump. Mamava is a female-owned company headquartered in Vermont that manufactures all of its lactation pods in America.
