ATLANTA – State Representative Al Williams (D-Macon) recently was appointed to the Rules Subcommittee on Lawsuit Reform by Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington). Additionally, Rep. Williams applauds the passage of House Bill 576 out of the House Committee on Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, legislation he sponsored that would delay money transactions to allow users to cancel, if needed.

Speaker Jon Burns Applauds Creation of Subcommittee of Rules on Lawsuit Reform

ATLANTA – Today, House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) praised State Representative Butch Parrish (R-Swainsboro), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, for his creation of the Subcommittee of Rules on Lawsuit Reform. This subcommittee is tasked with considering proposed legislation that addresses changes to Georgia’s legal environment—Senate Bill 68 and Senate Bill 69.
