Rep. Doug Stoner’s Bill to Help Schools Treat Hypoglycemic Emergencies Becomes Effective on July 1, 2023

ATLANTA – State Representative Doug Stoner (D-Smyrna) today announced that House Bill 440 will go into effect on July 1, 2023. Sponsored by Rep. Stoner, HB 440 will allow public and private schools in Georgia to acquire and keep a supply of glucagon, a rescue therapy medication used to treat hypoglycemic emergencies for citizens with Type 1 diabetes.

Gov. Brian Kemp Signs Rep. Doug Stoner’s Legislation to Allow Schools to Stock Treatment for Hypoglycemic Emergencies

ATLANTA – State Representative Doug Stoner (D-Smyrna) today announced that Governor Brian Kemp signed House Bill 440 into law on Thursday, April 13, 2023, in Savannah. Sponsored by Rep. Stoner, HB 440 will allow public and private schools in Georgia to acquire and keep a supply of glucagon, a medication used to treat severe hypoglycemia in people with diabetes, starting July 1, 2023.

Rep. Doug Stoner Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2023-2024 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Doug Stoner(D-Smyrna) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2023, marking his first day of the 2023-2024 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 157th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly. Rep. Stoner previously served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 2002 to 2004 and the State Senate from 2004 to 2012.
