ATLANTA – State Representative Eddie Lumsden (R-Armuchee), chairman of the House Insurance Committee, announces that Tooga Theater in Summerville, Georgia has been awarded a one-time grant of $250,000 allocated under House Bill 915, the Amended Fiscal Year 2024 budget. These Special Project funds are awarded through the Georgia Council for the Arts, a division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development charged with empowering the arts industry in Georgia and artists around the state to cultivate healthy, vibrant communities that are rich in civic participation, cultural experiences and economic prosperity.

ATLANTA – State Representative Eddie Lumsden (R-Armuchee), chairman of the House Insurance Committee, was recently recognized by the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) with a 2022 ACCG Legislative Service Award for the second consecutive year. Rep. Lumsden was presented with the award by Todd Edwards, ACCG deputy legislative director, during a Chattooga County Board of Commissioners meeting on July 5, 2022.

Legislation to Modernize Floyd County Elections Signed Into Law
ATLANTA – State Representatives Katie Dempsey (R-Rome), Eddie Lumsden (R-Armuchee), Mitchell Scoggins (R-Cartersville) and State Senator Chuck Hufstetler (R-Rome), members of the Floyd County Legislative Delegation, today announced that Governor Brian Kemp signed House Bills 8EX and 9EX into law on Friday, November 19, 2021. This legislation seeks to modernize and improve the county’s election board by adding additional board members and a new elections supervisor position. Speaker Ralston Announces Members of the House Rural Development Council for the 2021-2022 Session
