ATLANTA – State Representative Matt Reeves (R-Duluth) was recently named Legislator of the Year by the Georgia Nurses Association during the association’s meeting at the University of Georgia. Rep. Reeves was selected to receive the award following his work sponsoring House Bill 383, the “Safer Hospitals Act,” which was signed into law in April of this year by Governor Brian Kemp.

Gov. Brian Kemp Signs Rep. Matt Reeves’ Legislation to Strengthen Hospital Safety
ATLANTA – State Representative Matt Reeves (R-Duluth) today announced that Governor Brian Kemp signed House Bill 383, the Safer Hospitals Act, on Tuesday, May 2. HB 383 aims to provide solutions for rising rates of violence that endanger medical staff and patients.

Rep. Matt Reeves’ Safer Hospitals Act Receives Final Passage
ATLANTA – State Representative Matt Reeves (R-Duluth) today announced that the Georgia General Assembly recently gave final passage to House Bill 383, or the Safer Hospitals Act. Sponsored by Rep. Reeves, the Safer Hospitals Act would allow all Georgia hospitals to form hospital campus police departments with POST certified law enforcement officers, similar to college campus police departments.

Rep. Matt Reeves Appointed to 2023-2024 Majority Caucus Whip Team, Named Gwinnett County Public School Liaison
ATLANTA – State Representative Matt Reeves (R-Duluth) was recently appointed to serve as a member of the House Majority Caucus Whip Team. Rep. Reeves was appointed to serve on the whip team by House Majority Whip James Burchett (R-Waycross), and his appointment is for a two-year term concurrent with his service as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives.
