Rep. Penny Houston Commends Georgia Jobs and Infrastructure Committees, Makes Constituents Aware of State Recovery Funding

ATLANTA – State Representative Penny Houston (R-Nashville) commends Governor Brian Kemp for creating the Georgia Jobs and Infrastructure Committees to advise on spending the federal coronavirus relief funds that were allocated to Georgia through the American Rescue Plan. Georgia industries impacted by COVID-19 will be able to apply for this state recovery funding during the month of August.

Speaker Ralston Announces Members of the House Rural Development Council for the 2021-2022 Session

Reps. Houston, Greene Announce Upcoming FEMA COVID-19 Funeral Assistance

ATLANTA – State Representatives Penny Houston (R-Nashville), chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development, and Gerald Greene (R-Cuthbert), chair of the House State Properties Committee, today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will provide financial resources for families who incurred funeral expenses for a loved one who has died as a result of COVID-19 last year.

Reps. Houston, Pirkle, Watson Encourage Residents in Tift County to Participate in 2020 U.S. Census

ATLANTA – State Representatives Penny Houston (R-Nashville), Clay Pirkle (R-Ashburn) and Sam Watson (R-Moultrie) encourage residents in Tift County to participate in the 2020 U.S. Census before the September 30 deadline. As of September 3, Georgia’s self-response rate is 60.4 percent, which is behind the national average of 65.1 percent; the response rate in Tift County is 55.7 percent. Continue reading “Reps.
