Rep. Scott to Introduce Legislation to Address “Period Poverty”

            ATLANTA – State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) today announced that she will introduce legislation to address “period poverty” and make menstrual hygiene products more accessible and more affordable to Georgians. Rep. Scott, along with State Representatives Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) and Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain), pre-filed House bills 861, 863 and 864 last fall and will formally introduce these bills during the 2022 legislative session, which convened today, Monday, Jan. 10, 2022.

Speaker David Ralston Appoints Former State Representative Ed Lindsey to State Election Board

ATLANTA – Today, Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) appointed former State Representative Edward Lindsey, Jr., to the State Election Board. Lindsey succeeds Rebecca Sullivan who was named Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Administrative Services earlier today.
