ATLANTA – State Representative Doreen Carter (D-Lithonia) is encouraging citizens to “Go Red for Women” by wearing red on Friday, February 7, 2020. “Go Red for Women” Day is celebrated by the American Heart Association (AHA) and is designated to increase women’s awareness and research about cardiovascular health.  Rep. Rep. Gilliard Introduces Legislation to Create Georgia Gang Prevention and Intervention Task Force

ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City) recently introduced House Bill 883, legislation which would create the Georgia Gang Prevention and Intervention Task Force. Rep. Rep. Cooper Named Advocate of the Year by Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia

ATLANTA – State Representative Sharon Cooper (R-Marietta), chairman of the House Health and Human Services Committee, was recently selected as a recipient of the 2019 Charlotte Wilen Maternal & Infant Health Advocates of the Year Award by the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia. Rep. Cooper was chosen for this award for championing House Bill 345, legislation which improves health care conditions for pregnant inmates or inmates who are in the immediate postpartum period, during the 2019 legislative session.
