House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Community Health and Healthcare Oversight to Hold First Meeting at State Capitol Tomorrow

ATLANTA – The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Community Health and Healthcare Oversight, chaired by State Representative Mark Newton (R-Augusta), will hold its first meeting TOMORROW, Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in room 606 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta.

During the meeting, study committee members will hear from the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, the Department of Community Health, the Department of Public Health, the Department of Human Services, the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, the Georgia Board of Healthcare Workforce and the Georgia Composite Medical Board.  

The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Community Health and Healthcare Oversight will evaluate Georgia’s overall healthcare landscape to improve access, strengthen patient protections and identify practical policy solutions to enhance outcomes, efficiency and accountability across the state.
