ATLANTA – The House Rural Development Council (HRDC), co-chaired by State Representatives Rick Jasperse (R-Jasper) and Sam Watson (R-Moultrie), will hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 9 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. To watch a live stream of this meeting, please click here.
Members of the council will receive testimony from the Georgia Center for Rural Prosperity and Innovation, Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center, Georgia Center for Opportunity, as well as Charlie Hayslett, author of Trouble in God’s Country. The council will also discuss the 2020 U.S. Census, broadband expansion initiatives and Georgia’s food processing centers.
The HRDC, which was reauthorized by House Resolution 185 during the 2021 legislative session, will continue to work with rural communities to find ways to encourage economic growth.
