House Speaker David Ralston Names Two to Boards

ATLANTA — House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) announced today the appointment of the following individuals to boards:

State Properties Commission/Georgia Building Authority Governing Board
Mike Nixon, Ball Ground— Nixon is the owner/manager of TCI Contracting, which operates 19 branches in ten states. TCI sells and installs building products in residential and commercial properties. He previously served as chairman of the Board of Trustees for Encore Park for the Arts in Alpharetta and was recently appointed to the Cherokee County Airport Authority. Nixon is the co-founder of Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, ranked a top 100 U.S. golf course by Golf Digest. He attended Memphis State University.

Steve Dickinson, Marietta— Dickinson is Executive Director and Global Head of Corporate Communications for the animal health pharmaceutical and vaccine company, Merial, Ltd. Merial employs more than 5,600 people and operates in more than 150 countries worldwide. Merial is a Sanofi company. In his role as Head of Global Corporate Communications, Dickinson oversees internal and external communications, community relations, issues and crisis management, and e-communications. Before working with Merial, Dickinson was Senior Vice President and Director of the Healthcare and Life Sciences practice of GCI Group, a global communications firm. Dickinson also served nine years as National Vice President, Corporate Communications, for the American Cancer Society. Prior to that position, he served as Director of Corporate Communications for Dornier Medical Systems, which is the U.S. medical technologies division of a large German aerospace company. Earlier in his career, Dickinson was Director of Public Affairs for Searle Pharmaceuticals, a top-20 global pharmaceutical company based in Chicago. He resides in Marietta with his wife of 37 years.
