ATLANTA – State Representative Rick Townsend(R-St. Simons) commends the Joint Study Committee on Dual Enrollment for Highly Skilled Talent at Younger Ages today after the joint study committee held a final meeting at the State Capitol to adopt the official recommendations. Created by Senate Resolution 175, this study committee was tasked with examining Georgia’s current dual enrollment opportunities to develop highly skilled talent at younger ages and identify potential solutions to yield more dual enrollment participants.

Rep. Mandisha A. Thomas to Host “Biking For Clean Air” Event in Metro Atlanta

ATLANTA – State Representative Mandisha A. Thomas (D-South Fulton) will host the “Biking For Clean Air” event aimed at reducing the carbon footprint and raising awareness about local trails in the Metro Atlanta area. This outdoor biking event will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the City of South Fulton Old National Economic Development Office in South Fulton.

Rep. Imani Barnes Announces “Safe Teens Act” to be Introduced During 2024 Legislative Session

ATLANTA – State Representative Imani Barnes (D-Tucker) today announced that she has drafted legislation, titled the “Safe Teens Act,” that would authorize local boards of education and other public school governing bodies to offer driver education as an elective course. This legislation will be formally introduced during the 2024 legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly.
