Sen. Nikki Merritt and Rep. Chuck Efstration Support Judicial Ruling on SB 201

Atlanta (September 28, 2021) | Last week, Superior Court Judge Laura Tate ruled that the Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner must collect property taxes without the ability to increase fees. SB 201 applies to any county that contains 14 or more municipalities and prevents county tax commissioners from negotiating contracts with cities to increase their own salary.

Rep. Park Cannon Joins Good Trouble Network, First National Network of Black LGBTQ+ Elected Officials

ATLANTA – State Representative Park Cannon (D-Atlanta) today announced that she has joined the founding cohort of the National Black Justice Coalition’s (NBJC) Good Trouble Network, which is the first national network of Black LGBTQ+ elected officials. The Good Trouble Network seeks to coordinate and synthesize political priorities that benefit Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer+ and same-gender loving (SGL) people, including people living with HIV/AIDS.

Rep. Gilliard to Host Interchange Dedication Ceremony for Late Rep. Bobby L. Hill

ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City) will host an interstate interchange dedication ceremony in honor of late State Representative Bobby Lee Hill on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul CME Church in Savannah. Immediately following the ceremony, there will be a motorcade to the interchange.
