ATLANTA – State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City) will host an interstate interchange dedication ceremony in honor of late State Representative Bobby Lee Hill on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul CME Church in Savannah. Immediately following the ceremony, there will be a motorcade to the interchange.
Through this dedication, Rep. Gilliard seeks to honor Hill for his service as a state legislator for 14 years and his contributions as a civil rights attorney. During the 2021 legislative session, the House of Representatives adopted House Resolution 355, sponsored by Rep. Gilliard. The resolution names the interchange of Interstate 16 and Interstate 516 in Chatham County the Representative Bobby L. Hill Interchange.
