Rep. Barry Fleming Named Chairman of the House Special Committee on Election Integrity

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Barry Fleming (R-Harlem) as the Chairman of the House Special Committee on Election Integrity. Rep. Fleming will also serve as a member on the Special Committee on Access to the Civil Justice System and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education; he will also serve on the Code Revision, Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment, Judiciary, Governmental Affairs, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications and Rules committees.

“I am excited and humbled that Speaker Ralston and the Committee on Assignments has entrusted me with this committee chairmanship on such a vital issue,” said Rep. Fleming.

The House Special Committee on Election Integrity handles legislation relating to the security, reliability, efficiency and accessibility of state elections.

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Barry Fleming represents the citizens of District 121, which includes portions of Columbia and McDuffie counties. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2002 and currently serves as Chairman of the Special Committee on Election Integrity. He also serves on the Special Committee on Access to the Civil Justice System, Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education and the Code Revision, Governmental Affairs, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Judiciary, Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment and Rules committees.
