Rep. Dar’shun Kendrick Selected as a 2026 Elected Woman of Excellence by National Foundation for Women Legislators

ATLANTA – State Representative Dar’shun Kendrick (D-Lithonia) was recently selected as a 2026 Elected Woman of Excellence by the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) for her impact as a leader and public servant.

“I am honored to be named a 2026 Elected Woman of Excellence by the NFWL,” said Rep. Kendrick. “This award is deeply meaningful as it not only recognizes my leadership within my community and state but also recognizes me as a trailblazer for future women to pursue public office and make their voices heard. I am proud to be among a distinguished group of women who are breaking barriers across the country and paving the way for the next generation of women leaders.”

NFWL’s Elected Women of Excellence Award recognizes state and local elected women who have demonstrated their exceptional leadership in their communities. NFWL highlights that award recipients have worked tirelessly—often overcoming significant barriers—to serve and lead.

“NFWL is built on celebrating the remarkable achievements of dedicated women leaders, and we are honored to recognize this year’s outstanding awardees,” said NFWL Executive Director Renee Dabbs.

Rep. Kendrick will be formally recognized for the award during NFWL’s 2026 Annual Conference in Nashville, Tenn. in November.

“We congratulate this year’s recipients and look forward to celebrating their accomplishments in Nashville this November,” Dabbs added.

NFWL is a national, nonpartisan nonprofit educational foundation for elected women at the state, county and municipal levels with a mission of providing strategic resources to elected women for leadership development, exchange of diverse legislative ideas and effective governance through conferences, state outreach, educational materials, professional and personal relationships and networking.
