ATLANTA – State Representative Arlene Beckles (D-Norcross) celebrates the city of Duluth and the recent announcement of “The Big 150: Off the Rails,” a citywide celebration commemorating 150 years of Duluth’s history.
“Duluth’s 150th anniversary is more than a celebration of years—it is a celebration of the people, families, businesses and leaders who have helped build one of Georgia’s most dynamic and welcoming communities,” said Rep. Beckles. “As the state representative for House District 96, I am proud to join our residents in recognizing this historic milestone and the tremendous impact Duluth continues to have on Gwinnett County and our state.”
Scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, the event seeks to bring together residents, businesses, community organizations and visitors from across the region to honor the city.
The day-long celebration will feature live entertainment, family-friendly activities, food vendors, community engagement opportunities and a headline concert featuring the rock band, Grand Funk Railroad.
“Whether you have called Duluth home for decades or recently joined our community, this anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on our shared history and recommit ourselves to building an even stronger future together,” added Rep. Beckles. “I encourage everyone to participate in this once-in-a-generation celebration.”
Rep. Beckles commends the city of Duluth, Mayor Greg Whitlock, city council members, city staff, local businesses and volunteers for their dedication to the city and to the upcoming event.
