Rep. Devan Seabaugh Issues Statement on Cobb County Officers Killed in Line of Duty

ATLANTA – State Representative Devan Seabaugh (R-Marietta) today issued the following statement regarding the recent shooting deaths of two Cobb County police officers, Deputy Marshall Samuel Erving Jr. and Deputy Jonathan Randall Koleski, who were killed in the line of duty while attempting to serve a warrant at a Cobb County residence:

“This week, memorial services were performed for two Cobb County Sheriff’s Office deputies who were killed in the line of duty. Thousands of people attended each service from across Georgia to mourn their loss, show support for the families and to acknowledge and celebrate their lives, love for their families and their love for the career to which gave their lives. The selfless men and women in public safety throughout the state wear the uniform and risk their lives for all of us every day without hesitation. We will continue to support our law enforcement officers and their families and shall never forget these brave men who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our Cobb County community. I want to extend my deepest condolences to the families of Deputy Marshall Samuel Erving Jr. and Deputy Jonathan Randall Koleski, who faced the unbearable pain of laying their loved ones to rest this week. The families, colleagues and friends of these deputies will remain in my thoughts and prayers.”

Representative Devan Seabaugh represents the citizens of District 34, which includes portions of Cobb County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2021 and currently serves on the Code Revision, Creative Arts & Entertainment and Transportation committees.
