Rep. Devan Seabaugh Named Vice Chairman of Key House Committees

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Devan Seabaugh (R-Marietta) as the Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and the House Industry & Labor Committee.

“I am grateful to Speaker Burns and the Committee on Assignments for allowing me to serve in this capacity,” said Rep. Seabaugh. “These are important and meaningful committees and I am grateful and look forward to working with my colleagues on the issues that will be discussed.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives. 

The Appropriations Sub Committee on Health focuses on writing the state’s amended and general fiscal year budgets for Georgia’s state healthcare agencies. The subcommittee also hears legislation that has considerable impact on the state revenue or expenditures.

The Industry & Labor Committee deals with the issues surrounding labor and management relations. It also has jurisdiction on matters dealing with Worker’s Compensation and Georgia’s Worker’s Compensation Board.

Rep. Seabaugh has also been named as a member of the Creative Arts & Entertainment, Code Revision, Transportation and Public Health committees.

Representative Devan Seabaugh represents the citizens of District 34, which includes portions of west Cobb County, the city of Marietta and the city of Kennesaw. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2021 and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Industry and Labor Committee and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health. He is also a member of the Creative Arts & Entertainment, Code Revision, Transportation and Public Health committees.
