ATLANTA – State Representative Dewayne Hill (R-Ringgold) was recently appointed to serve as a member of the House Majority Caucus deputy whip team. Rep. Hill was appointed to serve on the whip team by House Majority Whip Trey Kelley (R-Cedartown), and his appointment is for the remainder of the 2019-2020 legislative term, which is concurrent with his service as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives.
“I would like to thank the House Majority Caucus leadership and Whip Kelley for appointing me as a member of the deputy whip team ahead of the 2020 legislative session,” said Rep. Hill. “It is an honor to join this dynamic, hardworking team, and I know that we will work diligently in the upcoming session to support the caucus as it considers legislation that will better our state.”

Members of the deputy whip team are responsible for monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and helping their fellow House members understand the details of bills and resolutions.
Representative Dewayne Hill represents the citizens of District 3, which includes the northern most part of Catoosa County. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government. He serves as a member on the Education, Human Relations & Aging, Industry and Labor, Interstate Cooperation, Intragovernmental Coordination and Retirement committees. He also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Economic Development & Tourism Subcommittee on International Trade and Commerce.
